1.18.1 What's the biggest whopper you ever told?

Why not ask about the messiest kill or the worst mistake I've ever made? It's all equally meaningless and you'll be guaranteed the same answer: There is no biggest or messiest or worst. There's only action and reaction, and sometimes a shit storm of the highest degree when the goddamn reaction isn't exactly what I was expecting. Like any storm, I can usually ride it out and keep my head low until the next time I need to resurface.

There are some who'd be of the opinion that any lie characterized as the biggest should have the biggest impact - there has to be a way to quantify what constitutes a big versus a little lie, right? Impact seems as good a way as any. Since I value my opinion above anyone else's, though, I call bullshit on that idea. Sometimes it's what would be considered the smallest, most innocuous untruth that can lead to all hell breaking loose, while a "whopper" lands with a thud. That only proves my point. There's the lie, there's the consequence of that lie, and that's all, folks. In this case, size doesn't matter.

I don't expect anyone who doesn't sustain himself on a diet of deception and quick thinking to fully comprehend what I'm saying, so here's an nice, neat, little answer for you.

The biggest whopper I've ever told is, "Nice tie, Mulder."
